Experience
in perspective.

From institutional portfolio risk to cross-border allocation, private markets, and an independent research organization.

2010–2012
SEB

Portfolio Risk Analysis

After completing my MBA, I joined SEB as a portfolio risk analyst. My work covered corporate credit, macroeconomic data, cross-currency portfolio volatility, and the capital needs of European industrial clients, alongside portfolio stability and risk analysis for family offices and institutions.

2012–2014
European industrial projects

Industrial Capital Research

Research into automation equipment, medical technology, communications infrastructure, and long-term R&D investment deepened my understanding of the relationship between patient capital and industrial capability.

2014–2016
London and New York

Cross-Border Research & Allocation

I undertook independent research and asset allocation work for European capital institutions and American industrial funds. Working across regions reinforced the need to understand the different boundaries of capital, governance, and risk.

2016–2019
Independent research team

Building a Research Method

The team began with 11 people and grew to 18, combining financial analysis, data engineering, industry research, policy risk, and private equity due diligence. Over approximately 18 months, we developed a shared framework for information quality, consistent judgment, and reviewable decisions.

2017
ICONIQ Capital

Return to the United States

I joined ICONIQ Capital in a personal professional capacity, participating in asset allocation, external manager research, private market assessment, and macroeconomic risk analysis. My independent research team continued separately, with distinct funding, client information, project permissions, and data-use boundaries.

2018–2023
North American industry and research networks

Technology & Research Development

Visits to Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Seattle, and Boston brought direct conversations with founders, technical leaders, engineers, and researchers. In 2019, the independent team reached approximately 60 people across public markets and macro risk, private markets, and long-term industrial themes. The wider collaboration network approached 200 people.

2023
Liquidity, real rates, and capital flows

Macro Risk & Portfolio Research

Research examined liquidity, real interest rates, capital flows, and changing risk appetite across equities, digital assets, and gold. Where client authorization and risk budgets permitted, gold-related allocations were implemented through approved external managers and investment instruments, with continued risk monitoring.

2024–Present
ICONIQ Capital and independent research

Long-Term Research & Decision Support

I continue to participate in asset allocation, manager research, and private market assessment for private family and institutional clients at ICONIQ Capital. My independent research organization has a directly managed core of approximately 25–35 people and a global collaboration network of 180–220. Current themes include AI infrastructure, life sciences tools, advanced manufacturing, and medical applications of nanotechnology.
