科内丽亚·玛丽亚·阿涅利
Italian–Turkish · Based in Palo Alto
I was born in Istanbul on 12 August 1985, with Italian and Turkish roots. My childhood brought together the industrial traditions of Turin and the cultural perspective of Istanbul.
My father, Lorenzo Vittorio Agnelli, taught me to look beyond reported profits to capital expenditure, research, governance, and the decisions that shape a business over decades. My mother, Leyla S. Agnelli, brought a complementary perspective through private banking and the financial governance of family philanthropy.
Her example made the purpose behind a budget as important to me as the numbers themselves. After graduating from Stanford in 2007, I returned to Istanbul to be with her as her illness worsened, while continuing industrial research. She died in 2008, the year I began my MBA.
My father belongs to an extended branch of the Agnelli family. The history of industrial enterprise in Turin shaped my interest in long-term ownership, transformation, and stewardship. I chose to begin my career outside the family’s industrial and investment structures, building experience through work that could stand on its own.

Formal education is a foundation for a lifelong practice of asking better questions.
In 2009, I attended a family enterprise governance short course at London Business School. In 2014, a private banking and intergenerational wealth governance course in Zurich extended that interest in the structures that support lasting stewardship.
Books, classical music, contemporary art, and time outdoors create space to think.
I enjoy sailing, tennis, horse riding, travel, food, and walks in the snow. Reading commercial history is a lasting pleasure. English is the main language of family life; I also speak Japanese and Korean.
I met Mark at a business debate at Stanford when I was 22. We married in 2016 and made the United States the center of our work and life in 2017. His death during the pandemic in 2020 changed my understanding of time, loss, and the value of being deeply understood.
Palo Alto is my primary home. I return to Turin and Istanbul to spend time with family, and London remains a place for friendships, professional visits, and cultural life.
